HOW DOES SOCKIT GEL MANAGE PAIN?

First, a thin layer of the gel adheres to injured oral tissues and helps protect them from further irritation and contamination. Its pH is compatible with saliva so that it is soothing to oral tissues.

Second, the gel matrix prevents the initiation of a pain signal without altering normal physiology. It does so by working outside nerve cells where it binds sodium ions and prevents their entry into the nerve cells. It is not absorbed into tissues or the bloodstream and it does not numb tissues as do benzocaine, lidocaine and other topical anesthetics.

DOES SOCKIT GEL CAUSE A NUMB SENSATION?

No. SockIt! does not contain anesthetics or any other drugs. It helps reduce discomfort by protecting tissues and by interfering with the initiation of a pain signal. It is not absorbed and does not numb tissues.

DOES SOCKIT GEL ASSIST IN HEALING?

Yes. SockIt! is gentle to tissues, helps reduce pain, prevents contamination and provides mannans to the wound site. All of these factors help optimize the healing process.

DOES THE USE OF OTHER ORAL PRODUCTS SUCH AS MOUTHWASH AND TOOTHPASTE AFFECT THE PERFORMANCE OF SOCKIT GEL?

SockIt Gel will eventually wash out of the affected area. SockIt Gel may need to be reapplied after eating, drinking, brushing, or rinsing.

HOW SHOULD SOCKIT GEL BE STORED?

SockIt Gel should be stored at room temperature or in a refrigerator. It should not be frozen.
